“Illness, especially a serious one, always indicates a time of repentance for that family. Illness motivates us to heighten our spiritual life. It is important for the sick child to receive Holy Communion, so as to lay a good foundation for the medical treatment. Our Church is founded on the Blood of Christ, and any good deed should be fortified by the Body and Blood of Christ. In order to do this, you may invite a priest to your home. Priests are often busy, but none of them would refuse to give Holy Communion to a sick child.”
