“Whether or not we are currently in a time of trial, this Akathist to Almighty God for Help in Trouble can be a source of healing and comfort to our souls, which are daily under assault from the fiery darts of the evil one (Eph. 6:16). I suggest that you consider reading it at least once a week, for two reasons: as a ‘maintenance medication’ against the various passions we regularly encounter in the trenches of our daily lives; and to build up a stockpile of ‘spiritual ammunition,’ from which we can receive additional courage and perseverance when we are faced with a definite crisis or major demonic attack.”
